Very redundant. I found myself reading the same exact text from one chapter that had been cut and pasted to another chapter. Good section on EEC-IV computers, but lacking in actual real tuning for performance.

From a garage guy.. this book is a excellent heads up on how ford fuel injection works in fairly easy reading. I have the 5.0 in an Explorer and it covered from the v6 and v8 engines very well. Combine this with a Chilton or Hanes manual to work on any ford v8 and you will be well served.
Don't buy it if you are looking for any performance mods.. other books WILL be better. This book covers all the major engine sensors, and how to diagnose using a ohm and volt meters along with several other routine tools.
Ford F150 and several other Ford sites will are good supplements to this book..especially for certain problems that popup with certain engines...and/or cars. Good luck!
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

This book has absolutely NO VALUE to the Mustang tuner. Instead get;

Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Control : All Ford/Lincoln-Mercury Cars and Light Trucks 1988 to 1993

Ford Fuel Injection, has an in depth explanation of how the system works, and what you should and shouldn't do to make your car perform better. Don't waste your money on this book!!!

This is a great book to help you diagnose problems with fuel injected engines that use the Ford EEC-III and EEC-IV computers. It explains how the various sensors work, and how to test them. There is little information on the new OBD-II computers. There is only a small chapter that talks in general about modifications. Don't buy this book if you want some help in modifying Ford fuel injected motors.
Best money I ever spent - not an exaggeration !

I have many ford vehicles that have come up with electrical/fuel injection problems after 200,000+ miles and this book has helped me fix all of them quickly and very, very in-expensively.
It has great testing techniques and some quick fixes for limping back home if needed. I added power and better gas milege to all the vehichles and I'm sure I have probably saved over a thousand dollars in costly mechanic diagnostics (which they usually get wrong) and repairs by using this book.
