Typical Haynes but not for my 2000 2500 454 (old style body)

It is not clear to the casual observer but this book is for the "new" style truck which was made simultaneously with the "old" one for several years and they are different enough that this book isn't much help. It's hard to work on drum brakes, for example, when the book is for 4-wheel discs. Next time I'll go to the local auto parts store where I can see both books side-by-side (new and old body style) and spend the extra $5 and get a NEW one!

Interesting to note that, since I bought the Chilton's rag at the same time, THEY'RE THE SAME DAMN BOOK!!!

This book is not to bad. It hits on a lot. Great to have around. May save you a lot of money, Look in the book instead of taking to a repair shop, You might be able to repair it your self. First little repair will pay for the book.

Great info and easy to understand... only if you have previous experience and lots of tools. I purchased to learn how to work on the autoride system on our Denali and the inforamtion was not listed. Too bad. But just about everything else is included in great detail.
very thorough book, covers everything...almost

you could not ask for a better book that explains how a gmc sierra works or how to fix/repair it except for the one thing that i needed it for. during a recent "professional" detailing job, the center console cover was damaged. the spring that keeps the cover in place in a vertical position was damaged. i looked into the dealer replacement and it was over $600, so i bought this book thinking it would give me steps/tips on replacing eh console cover, but no luck, every other item is illustrated as replaceable except the console cover, go fire. otherwise a great book.
