My grandpa owned the Studebaker Dealership in Placerville from 1956 to 1966. This truck was his demonstrator in 1958. Since then we put factory Studebaker 4x4 running gear underneath it, converted it to 3/4 ton, installed disc brakes in the front using Ford hubs and Chevy brakes. It has 5.38 gears with Twin Traction front and rear and 37" tires. The engine is a Studebaker 289ci bored .030" over with a Carter AFB 4bbl, aluminum intake manifold, water injection and a RayJay turbocharger. This truck has been on extreme four wheel drive trails and it has towed up to 12,000 lbs.
