1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee. Engine: Ford 460 (7.5L V8)
This was the finest American car money could buy in 1978. After this year, everything went downhill.
Made for the 75th anniversary of the Ford Motor Company, the Diamond Jubilee edition had every luxury option as standard. Only 5,159 were made, and many sat in showrooms or private collections, never again to see the light of day. 2,557 Diamond Jubilees were painted this color, Jubilee Gold. Only 1,511 Diamond Jubilees had a moonroof, and this is one. At 230 inches long, this is one of the largest coupes ever produced, and is noticeably longer than an F-250. The interior is plush, with 36 oz. Tiffany cut-pile carpeting and ultra-soft velour seats. Without a doubt one of the most comfortable cars ever made in America.
