1957 Studebaker 3E7 Transtar Deluxe Cab 1/2-ton short-bed pickup truck; 259 V8, 3-speed w/overdrive, 4-bbl carburetor, dual exhausts—all stock equipment. This is not a restored truck, but was built over 15 years by the previous owner to the specs of a Studebaker 3E7 from parts obtained from numerous sources and completed in the late 1990s. Engine is the correct optional Studebaker 259 V-8, but is a 1964 version with evolved improvements, such as full flow oil filter not on the original '57 engine. A heavy steel plate attached over the frame under the rear bed (obviating need for sandbags, hay bales, etc., for extra weight for highway driving), coupled with V-8 and overdrive allow truck to cruise easily at 70 mph highway speeds.

Added: 20 March, 2011My father had one same color. Brings back memories. This was the first truck I learned how to shift on the colom. If you ever want to sell I would like a chance to buy it. Great truck. Take good care of her. Tom
